BOSTON, MA, UNITED STATES, August 13, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Aptia, the leading U.S. employee benefits administrator and global pensions, health and insurance provider, continued its Aptia Serves philanthropic initiative by partnering with three professional football players and one college standout to donate over 300 back-to-school bookbags filled with supplies to students in communities across the United States.

Aptians at the company’s Orlando office procured and assembled the 350 bookbags provided by Shad’s Advertising, which were then shipped to each player’s designated community for distribution. The effort reflects Aptia Serves’ focus on hands-on volunteerism and employee-driven community impact.

The bookbags were distributed across four communities. New York defensive lineman DJ Reader distributed bags in his hometown of Greensboro, NC through his A Son Never Forgets Foundation, which is dedicated to promoting health, wellness and educational support in underserved communities. New York star edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux distributed bags through his Jream Foundation to members of his high school football team, who then delivered them to local elementary school students, demonstrating the importance of giving back to the next generation. Pro Bowl wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and his mother, Sabrina Greenlee, founders of S.M.O.O.O.T.H. Inc., distributed bags to students in Clemson, SC through the organization’s community outreach programs. And Arizona State wide receiver Omarion Miller returned to his hometown of Vivian, LA to distribute bags to a local non-profit in the community where he grew up.

“Aptia Serves is about showing up for the communities where people live, work and grow. This back-to-school effort brought our employees together with athletes who share that same commitment to service. When our team in Orlando packed those bags, they knew they were going to reach students in communities that these players care deeply about. That connection between our people and theirs is what makes Aptia Serves meaningful.” Kerry Donoghue – Chief Operating Officer, Aptia Group US.

The back-to-school bookbag drive is the latest in a series of Aptia Serves projects. Earlier efforts include assembling sensory kits for children with autism in collaboration with the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation, a garden beautification project with the United Way of Central Iowa, building 400 Ruck Ready Relief Kits for active-duty Green Berets with the Green Beret Foundation, and supporting the Boston Children’s Hospital Corporate Cup.

Through Aptia Serves, the company actively supports local communities across the country through hands-on volunteerism, charitable partnerships and employee-driven efforts.
